County's New Home Energy Upgrade Program Launches!

Santa Barbara County homeowners are learning how to achieve a higher level of home comfort and lower their utility bills as part of Santa Barbara County's new emPowerSBC program. In partnership with CoastHills Federal Credit Union and Ventura County Credit Union, emPowerSBC is offering low cost financing to help homeowners afford to make energy smart upgrades to their homes.
Over 85 community members attended an event held on November 1st at the County Courthouse to celebrate the launch of the program and its partnership with Energy Upgrade CA, which offers high dollar utility rebates for home energy upgrades.
Assemblymember Das Williams, Vice Chair of the County Board of Supervisors Doreen Farr and representatives from Energy Upgrade California and emPowerSBC spoke at the event, noting that every project completed helps the environment and brings jobs to qualified local contractors.
Attendees gathered in the Sunken Gardens and used a "Passport to Energy Savings" to guide them through the process of getting started on their home energy upgrade by meeting participating lenders and contractors. It was a chilly evening, reminding guests that such improvements can not only help them save money on heating, but
