We want to help local residents save energy, water, and money. We’ve created a short list of local programs and resources for your convenience.
Making home energy improvements is easier and more affordable than ever with emPower. The program provides a variety of services to single family homeowners including rebates up to $5,500, low-interest, unsecured financing, free home energy site visits, personalized customer support and access to qualified contractors.
Smart Build Santa Barbara (SB2) Program
The County’s Planning and Development Department offers free technical advice from local experts and time and money saving incentives such as reduced plan check fees for applicants who incorporate energy efficiency into their developments.
Energy Upgrade California
Energy Upgrade California™ is a state initiative to help Californians take action to save energy and conserve natural resources. The program provides a comprehensive online list of available rebates and incentives by area for homes, businesses and low-income residents.
Community Action Commission (CAC)
CAC seeks to create opportunities to help families achieve stability. Part of this effort includes offering free weatherization services and other energy services such as appliance repair to lower utility bills for income qualified households in Santa Barbara County.
California Solar Initiative (CSI)
CSI provides rebates and an approved list of contractors for home and building owners interested in installing solar electric and solar water heating systems.
Solarize is a program brought to you by the Community Environmental Council (CEC) that makes it simple and affordable for homeowners to go solar. Their group purchasing model helps local homeowners install solar electricity at a discounted price through a streamlined and hassle-free process.
This nonprofit organization brings the benefits of solar technology to communities that would not otherwise have access, providing needed savings for families, preparing workers for jobs in the fast-growing solar industry, and helping clean our environment.
